Main tasks of the sector
1. Organization of social protection for veterans of internal affairs bodies and military personnel of the National Guard of Ukraine, the State Border Service of Ukraine, private and command staff of the civil defense service, police officers who were injured, released from captivity, as well as for members of their families of persons who died (died), disappeared under special circumstances, were captured and in respect of whom the fact of deprivation of personal liberty as a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine was established (hereinafter referred to as victims and members of their families).
2. Keeping records of the needs for social protection of victims and members of their families, in particular regarding the provision of medical care and rehabilitation, psychological care and resocialization, prosthetics (if necessary), processing documents for receiving the stipulated cash payments, benefits, guarantees in accordance with current legislation, obtaining the status of a participant in hostilities, employment, training and retraining, etc.
3. Providing information and practical assistance on social protection issues to victims and their family members.
Functions of the sector
1. Acceptance of applications and documents that give the right to receive a certificate of a combatant, badges "War veteran-combatant", forms of coupons for the right to receive travel documents (tickets) at a 50 percent discount on their cost.
2. Transfer to the Fund for Social Protection of Persons with Disabilities information about persons with disabilities as a result of the war to pay them monetary compensation for free sanatorium and resort vouchers unused for two years.
3. Keeping records in the functional subsystem “Social and legal protection of victims and their family members” of the unified information system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the needs for social protection of servicemen of the National Guard of Ukraine, the State Border Service of Ukraine, private and command staff of the civil defense service, police officers who died (died), went missing, are in captivity, were released from captivity, were injured (concussion, trauma or mutilation) as a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, and their family members to provide assistance within the limits of their powers.
4. Consideration of applications and complaints on issues of pension and social security of persons discharged from service and their family members, regarding social protection, provision of organizational and practical assistance to family members of servicemen of the National Guard of Ukraine, the State Border Service of Ukraine, rank and file and command staff of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, police officers who were killed, wounded, disappeared under special circumstances, captured, persons in respect of whom the fact of deprivation of personal liberty as a result of armed aggression against Ukraine has been established, as well as other correspondence on issues within the competence of the sector.
5. Interaction with units on issues of organization of social protection of the Main Directorate of the National Police, military units of the National Guard of Ukraine, the State Border Service of Ukraine and detachments of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and local self-government bodies (including local social services) to implement benefits and meet the needs of victims and their family members.
6. Support for each person who is a victim of hostilities and their family members with the involvement of local social services to provide professional assistance for the period of stay of such a victim and his family members in the territory of service of the specified services.
7. Provision of practical assistance to victims and their family members in the preparation of documents for receiving monetary payments (benefits) specified by law.
8. Provision of assistance in restoring lost (expired) identity documents, as well as driver's licenses, etc.
9. Establishment of information exchange with healthcare institutions regarding military personnel of the National State Police and the State Police of Ukraine, ordinary and commanding personnel of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, and police officers who need prosthetics, in order to monitor their further inclusion in the centralized data bank on disability problems for free provision of rehabilitation means.
10. Maintaining official documentation, established reporting, official correspondence on issues that are within the competence of the Sector.
11. Preparing and submitting to the management of the SES of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Internal Affairs proposals aimed at improving the work of the Sector.
12. Carrying out instructions from the management of the SES of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Internal Affairs that fall within the competence of the Sector.
13. Compliance with the norms of anti-corruption legislation and the Anti-Corruption Program of the State Enterprise "Ministry of Internal Affairs".
14. Preparing reports on the work done and informing the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
